Director of Business Development

Fortress’ current portfolio includes nine marketed pharmaceutical products and multiple clinical-stage candidates across various indications, modalities including multiple partner and subsidiary companies. Fortress’ Business Development team is a core part of the organization and is responsible for cultivating and maintaining relationships with researchers, clinicians, academic research institutions and industry partners. Fortress searches extensively for clinical stage and ex-USA approved drug and drug candidates for license or acquisition.
Fortress is seeking applicants to join our Business Development team. We are looking for motivated, resourceful medical doctors, either in training or recent graduates, for search positions. The ideal candidate enjoys networking, cold-calling and researching many new therapeutic areas. The position involves building and maintaining an extensive network of key opinion leaders, clinicians, researchers and companies. The Business Development team members will also interact with internal diligence and transactional teams and will work collaboratively with senior management to learn how to identify novel therapeutics.

- Naturally curious learner who is excited to dive into many different drug candidates and therapeutic areas
- Able to network extensively and engage both academic and commercial sectors of biopharma
- Comfortable on the phone and in virtual meetings
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a collaborative manner with other teams in the company
- Cultivate substantive relationships and credibility with internal and external parties
Responsibilities Include, but Not Limited To:
- Identifying clinical stage and ex-USA approved drug candidates for acquisition or license from key academic, corporate or other entities involved in drug research and development
- Networking extensively, including significant cold outreach, to establish and maintain relationships with leading academic researchers, clinicians and industry leaders; maintain list of contacts in our CRM for networking and news distribution
- Engaging with key opinion leaders in targeted therapeutic categories to find new product opportunities
Minimum Eligibility Requirements:
- Medical degree is required
- Must be eligible to work in the United States
Compensation:
- Competitive compensation program that provides for very significant financial upside for the appropriate and successful candidate
